Ganon Baker's Testimony of Faith:
God has always been in my life but I have not always given him the glory. I was saved in Vienna, Austria in August of 1993. There, in a hotel room, I gave my life to Jesus. I was touring with a Pro-hoops team for 3 weeks. Sin and temptations seem to follow athletes. While there, I decided to live for more than just basketball.
I had brought "The Power of Positive Thinking" by Norman Vincent Peale (given to me by my grandfather) with me to Austria. It and the hotel's Gideon Bible were the only things in English I could understand. I felt the Holy Spirit's conviction one night and gave my life to the Lord.
Since then, my walk has been a roller coaster, but I have relied on Jesus through the good and bad. In 1999, I felt compelled to start praising the Lord publicly. I had become a stronger Christian and this was my next step. In 2001, God blessed me with Shake N' Bake Basketball Services. He gave me the gift of basketball talent so now I use this gift to serve him. He expands my territory and strengthens my faith everyday.
God is my coach, the Bible is my playbook, and I talk to my coach through prayer. I not only want to be a good basketball player, but a player of life as well. I will do my best everyday to serve him.
